Moving company in Timrå — from Vivsta and Sörberge to Bergeforsen and Söråker
Timrå sits thirteen kilometres north of our address in Sundsvall. That means we can load in Vivsta in the morning, come back the next day for whatever was left in the garage, and handle the final inspection without it turning into a separate job. You get a fixed price before we start, the RUT deduction taken straight off the invoice, and the same company doing both the move and the end-of-tenancy cleaning.
What we bring to the job
The drive up to Timrå — and why it does not cost you extra
From our address on Ortviksvägen in Sundsvall we head north on the E4, past Birsta and Sundsbruk, across the municipal boundary and into Vivsta. Thirteen kilometres, fifteen to twenty minutes depending on how the Birsta junction looks in the afternoon. The route does not cross the Sundsvall bridge, so unlike a move heading south towards Kvissleby there is no infrastructure toll on the way — and had there been one, it would have sat inside the fixed price rather than arriving as a separate bill afterwards. Being this close changes how a job in Timrå can be planned. We can split the move across two half-days instead of forcing everything into one, come back for the sofa that did not clear the doorway on the first attempt, and return when the landlord wants to inspect. Whether you are moving from Timrå to Sundsvall or the other way round, it is the same van and the same crew on both days. From most residential areas in the municipality it takes roughly twenty minutes down to Sundsvall and about the same up to Härnösand. In practice that means many Timrå moves only have one end inside the municipality: out of a flat in Sörberge into a house in Härnösand, or in from Sundsvall to a newly built home in Söråker. We price the job itself — how much has to be carried, which floor it is on, how close the van gets to the door — not how many municipal boundaries we cross on the way.
Four places, four different kinds of move
Timrå is not one place but several, and they differ more than you would expect across such short distances. Vivsta is the municipal centre: flats around the square, a short walk to the shops, and several municipal parking spaces that are free every day of the week. Loading is rarely the problem there — it is the stairwell, the lift or lack of one, and what time of day the neighbours are asleep. Sörberge is compact and practical, within walking distance of groceries, school and gym, and it is the fastest-growing part of the municipality. Solhöjden is planned for around 400 homes and is described by the municipal architect as one of the region's largest new low-rise housing areas in many years. That gives us two kinds of job in the same neighbourhood: families carrying in to something newly built, and people leaving a flat a few blocks away who need cleaning that will pass the landlord's inspection. Bergeforsen is detached housing above the Indalsälven river, with the power station as the landmark. The plots sit on a slope and the driveways are often steep. Our experience is that the last twenty metres to the door decide whether the large van gets through or whether we shuttle with a smaller one — and we look at that before quoting, not on moving day. In Söråker the municipality sells building-ready plots of between 1,112 and 1,424 square metres. New builds usually mean the ground around the house is not finished when the furniture arrives: gravel, clay and no lawn yet. We lay floor protection and boards where needed rather than carrying furniture straight in off a wet plot.
Torsboda, Midlanda and the moves that follow an industrial build
The biggest local story in Timrå for a long while is Torsboda Industrial Park. The company behind the site has proposed selling it to Google for a planned data centre — a deal that needs decisions in both the Timrå and Sundsvall councils, plus environmental, land and building permits, before anything is settled. If it goes ahead it means at least 500 direct jobs once the facility is running, and considerably more during construction. Torsboda is five minutes from Midlanda, the Sundsvall–Timrå airport, with the E4, the railway and the harbour close by. We mention this because it shows up in the enquiries we get, not because it sounds impressive. The municipality has issued planning approval for fourteen development areas, together well over 1,500 homes with room for around 3,450 residents. Arrivals at that pace produce moves that do not look like an ordinary household move: someone starts a job before the home is ready and needs storage in between, a household moves first into a rented one-bedroom and into a house six months later, a company sets up and wants its office move done outside working hours so the business stands still for as little time as possible. What we can do about it is keep the chain in one pair of hands. The same company loads out, stores the contents for as long as needed, brings them in when the keys are handed over, and does the end-of-tenancy cleaning in the old home. You get one price for the whole chain instead of three quotes from three companies that never quite line up at the edges.
Cleaning, loading and the Timrå winter
The end-of-tenancy cleaning decides whether you get the deposit back or a remark at the inspection, and it is still the part people call about last. We do it as part of the same job: cleaning from 895 kronor after the RUT deduction, and a more thorough level from 1,495 kronor when the home has stood empty for a while or faces a strict inspection. We clean once the contents are out, so nothing has to be rebooked because a room is still full. If the cleaning is failed at inspection, we come back and redo whatever was noted. Parking is simpler in Timrå than in central Sundsvall. The centre has several municipal spaces that are free every day of the week, and Vivstamon sits by the E4 with access from the industrial estate. But free is not the same as anything goes: if the van stands where it blocks traffic or is prohibited, the penalty charge is 800 kronor. We read the signs at the door in advance rather than gambling on moving day. Winter deserves its own paragraph. The largest single-day snowfall increase ever recorded in the whole of Medelpad came at the Sundsvall–Timrå airport on 27 January 1994: 44 centimetres. That is unusual, but it says something about what is possible here between November and April. We shovel the carrying route clear, put mats down inside the door, and expect a winter move to take longer than the identical move in June. That time is already in the fixed price — you get no extra invoice because it snowed.

We give a fixed price after going through the contents, which floor you are on and how close the van gets to the door. As a guide, a one- or two-room flat lands at roughly 2,000–5,000 kronor, and a house or a four-room home at 6,000–15,000 kronor. Charged by the hour, a van with a crew runs at around 500–900 kronor per hour. The RUT deduction is 50 per cent of the labour cost and comes straight off the invoice.
Both, and preferably in the same booking. The starting figures are 895 kronor after RUT for the standard clean and 1,495 kronor for the more thorough level. We clean once the contents are out, so there is no need to rebook because a room is still full. If the inspection notes anything, we put it right.
No. The drive up to Timrå is included in the fixed price, and since the route north on the E4 does not cross the Sundsvall bridge there is no infrastructure toll on the way. You should not see any add-on lines for travel, tolls or traffic standing still at Birsta.
Yes. It is common in Söråker and Sörberge, where a new house is finished later than the move-out date from the old home. We load out, store for as long as needed and bring everything in once you have the keys. The cleaning of the old home can be done right after loading out, so the inspection does not have to wait for the move-in.
